By registering a robot or using the DiaryRobo API, you agree to what follows. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.
DiaryRobo is not a medical device and not an alarm system
It does not monitor anyone. It does not call for help. It does not notify anyone of anything in real time. It writes down what a robot reported, after the fact.
If a person's safety depends on someone noticing something quickly, DiaryRobo is the wrong tool and must not be the thing you rely on. Use a real medical alert system, a care service, or a person.
1. What this service is
DiaryRobo receives telemetry that you send it, converts it into readable diary entries using fixed rules, stores them, and gives them back to you. That is the whole product.
It is at pilot stage. It is operated by one person, on free hosting tiers, and has had no independent security audit or clinical validation of any kind.
2. What it explicitly is not
- Not a medical device. It is not registered, certified or approved as one in any jurisdiction, and must not be used for diagnosis, treatment or clinical decisions.
- Not monitoring. Nobody is watching. Nothing alerts. A warning in the diary is a line of text that sits there until someone reads it.
- Not a safety system. A fall recorded in the diary does not summon help, and may not be recorded at all if the robot failed to report it.
- Not a medical record. Do not treat it as a clinical source of truth.
3. Availability
There is no uptime commitment. The service runs on a free hosting plan that sleeps when idle, so the first request after a quiet period can take up to a minute. It may be unavailable, lose recent data, or be discontinued. Keep your own copies of anything you need — the CLI writes local files for exactly this reason, and the export endpoint is always available.
4. Your responsibilities
Consent, where the diary is about someone else
If you register an eldercare robot, you are stating that the person whose health it records has agreed, or that someone legally able to agree for them has. We record the date you confirmed this and the name you gave. We cannot check it. If that statement was untrue, the consequences are yours, not ours.
Your token
The robot's token is the only thing protecting its diary. Anyone holding it can read, export and delete everything. Do not commit it to a repository, paste it into a chat, or leave it visible in a screenshot. If it is exposed, rotate it — that takes one request and does not cost you the diary.
What you send
Send only telemetry from robots you are entitled to operate. Do not use the service to collect data about people who have not agreed to it.
5. What you may not do
- Access, or attempt to access, a robot that is not yours
- Register robots in bulk to exhaust the service
- Send data unrelated to robot telemetry
- Use the service where its limitations would put someone at risk
6. Who owns what
Your diary data is yours. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to use it beyond storing and returning it to you. The service's own code and design remain ours.
7. Ending it
You can delete your robot and its data at any time, with one request, without asking us. We may suspend access for anything in section 5, or discontinue the service — if we do, we will give notice at the contact address you provided and leave the export endpoint working long enough for you to retrieve your data.
8. No warranty
The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the diary is accurate, complete, or that any given event was captured. Rules that turn telemetry into text can be wrong, and telemetry itself can be wrong or missing.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of this service, including harm resulting from something the diary failed to record, recorded late, or recorded incorrectly.
This is not a formality. The service is free, has no monitoring guarantees, and is explicitly not a safety system — please do not place it where a failure would hurt someone.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Changes
If these terms change materially, the date above changes and we will email everyone who gave us an address. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, delete your robot.
